Wilderness Medical Preparation and Rescue

Develops student knowledge in wilderness rescue and medical emergency preparedness through field simulations for land-based activities.

Special Requirements: This course involves moderate to high physical activity and the ability to be active and in the outdoors for a full day in a remote, forested environment. All students must submit the OLP Health History and Physical Examination Attestation Form, completed and signed by a physician, verifying medical clearance for full participation.

Students participate in weekly day-long, off-campus field trips. Students assume any travel and permit/pass costs associated with field trips.

All outdoor adventure education courses require submission of a Health History & Physical Exam Attestation Form prior to registration.

Students learn techniques used in wilderness rescue through field simulations with a focus on land-based activities.
