Understanding and Treating Preeclampsia: A Review of our Changing Understanding and Best Practices
Overview
GCC is excited to announce a series of MEAC-approved continuing education units (CEUs) for certified professional midwives in the region! Any CPM in need of continued professional development and/or any CPMs pursuing provisional state licensure in Massachusetts is encouraged to enroll in one or more of these CEU courses. All CEUs, if taken together, constitute 50 CEU contact hours that satisfy NARM's requirement for a Midwifery Bridge Certificate.
In this workshop, midwifery students will learn about the norms and protocols of preeclampsia based on the latest evidence-based care and best practices for preventing, identifying and treating preeclampsia. Students will hone their decision making processes when it comes to preeclampsia and identify when to take action. This workshop will also offer specific language for midwives to better communicate with hospital-based practices and ultimately provide better care and clearer pathways for prompt adequate care.
This course will be held remote via Zoom.
