ESOL Home Health Aide Training Program
Are you ready to enter the healthcare field and make a difference helping those in need?
This 10-week in-person training program combines home health aide training and English language instruction, and prepares students entering the healthcare field to care for individuals in their homes. Students in this program will learn all the skills required to succeed as a direct care worker in a friendly, adult-centered environment. Students who successfully pass this course will receive their Home Health Aide certification, and will be eligible to work for a state approved Home Health Agency.
This program meets in-person daily Monday-Friday from 9 a.m-2:30 p.m. and 100% attendance is required.
Program Eligibility Requirements:
- Intermediate-Level English Skills
- Able to pass CORI/SORI background check
- Must comply with immunization requirements
- Must be ready to work in healthcare upon completion of the program
- Must obtain authorization for work in the U.S.
This is an entry-level course with no pre-requisites. Applicants should be prepared to meet the program’s technical requirements, which include intermediate-level English skills.
Students who complete GCC’s Home Health Aide training program work as direct care providers in home settings. These highly in-demand jobs offer a starting wage of $15-18 per hour, and they are often the first step in a healthcare career.
Participants who successfully complete this program may earn their Home Health Aide certification, AHA Basic Life Support (CPR) certification, First Aid certification, and Alzheimer’s/Dementia training certification.
