Entry-level HVAC Training Program

OverviewPre-RequisitesOutcomesCredentials

This 17-week training course will prepare you for employment in the busy HVAC industry. In order to support success, participants will be provided work boots, a computer, tools, and lunches on campus as well as wraparound support services to address barriers. Participants will also receive milestone rewards as they complete the course requirements.

This course includes training for the following certifications and licences: NORA Bronze Certification for Oil Technicians, MA Oil Burner License, EPA 608 Universal and A2L Low GWP Refrigerant Safety certificates, OSHA-10 and NATE Ready-to-Work certificates. Your days will include hands-on learning opportunities with real HVAC tools and equipment, hands-on and online simulations, lectures, and discussions with your class. Once you have completed the 4-month training, we will help you to find a paid internship and/or employment with a local HVAC company. There is an additional year of follow-up and support built into the program during which participants will meet with mentors and their cohort monthly for questions and support.

Career readiness assistance will be provided through our partnership with the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center.

Classes run in person Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at GCC.

The HVAC training program is delivered through a partnership between Greenfield Community College, the MassHire Franklin-Hampshire Workforce Board and Career Center, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and area HVAC companies to develop and implement new training programs to meet the growing need for a clean energy workforce.
