Emergency Maneuvers for Childbirth: Unplanned Breech, Shoulder Dystocia, Cord Prolapse

Overview

This hands-on class will focus on emergency maneuvers for childbirth as it relates to unplanned breech, shoulder dystocia and cord prolapse. In the community setting, midwives and midwives in training must develop skills to address these potential complications. Students will demonstrate competency in the ability to recognize risk factors for each scenario, participate in hands-on learning activities including case studies, role play, use of anatomical models and teach back.
