Cultural Safety for Practicing Midwives
Overview
GCC is excited to announce a series of MEAC-approved continuing education units (CEUs) for certified professional midwives in the region! Any CPM in need of continued professional development and/or any CPMs pursuing provisional state licensure in Massachusetts is encouraged to enroll in one or more of these CEU courses. All CEUs, if taken together, constitute 50 CEU contact hours that satisfy NARM's requirement for a Midwifery Bridge Certificate.
This workshop is ideal for any direct care worker providing services to people and families—especially in community-based and home-based settings. Participants will gain a strong understanding of both the theory of implicit bias and cultural safety, as well as an understanding of how to apply this theory to their own practice. For midwives, this is essential to ensuring equitable and accessible care for all birthing people.
This course will be held in-person on the GCC campus.
