This program meets in-person daily Monday-Friday from 9 a.m-2:30 p.m. and 100% attendance is required. Additionally, students must attend program Orientation.
This combined 100-hour training prepares you for two certificates! Learn all the skills required to succeed as a direct care worker in a friendly, adult-centered environment. Also provides a clinical experience to support your healthcare career.
Nursing Assistant Training: Massachusetts law requires that anyone planning to work as a nursing assistant in a long term care facility (formerly called nursing homes) complete this required training and pass a state competency exam. The state testing fee is included in tuition. All students who successfully pass this course are qualified to take the MA Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation.
Home Health Aide Training: In Massachusetts, anyone planning to work for a state approved Home Health Agency must have their HHA certificate. All students who successfully pass this course will receive their HHA certificate.

This is an entry-level course with no pre-requisites. Prospective participants should be prepared to meet the program’s technical requirements.
Graduates of GCC’s CNA/HHA program work as direct care providers in a home setting or at a facility, such as an assisted living facility or in a hospital. These highly in-demand jobs offer a starting wage of $15-18 per hour, and they are often the first step in a healthcare career.
Learners who successfully complete this program will earn a Home Health Aide Certification and a Nursing Assistant Certificate of Completion, which meets the educational/clinical hours eligibility requirement to take the Massachusetts state exam to earn a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential. Successful completion also enables graduates to receive:
- Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification
- American Heart Association First Aid Certification
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Person-Centered Dementia Care Certificate of Completion
